legal secretary salary survey 2015 for conveynacingThe biggest response group from the secretary salary survey was the conveyancing secretaries – almost two thirds of the information received. This week we break down the conveyancing secretary salaries by experience from the major cities in South Africa.

The sector from conveyancing secretaries with less than 2 years’ experience was too small to be used in this analysis – we start with people who have 2 to 5 years’ conveyancing experience. Also the support of our survey from the smaller cities was not enough to follow this data pattern, but feel free to send questions by email should you want information – if there is enough data to give a respectable analysis, I will be happy to pass it on.

It seems that Johannesburg and Pretoria favour those secretaries that are not too experienced – in remuneration I mean – as the more experienced people with 21 years or more experience earning less than those with 16 to 20 years’ experience. Checking the effectiveness by using percentage supervision and number of matters handled per month favours those with more experience in this sector – so I imagine that there must be other reasons for the boost in earnings for the slightly less experienced. Maybe they have been more motivated to earn and demanded higher salaries than those who are readying themselves for retirement – maybe.

Below is the table of figures extracted from the survey data with the graph to graphically illustrate the sector salaries.
