RIM would like to make you aware of the upgrade to BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (MVS), RIM’s unified communications tool. BlackBerry MVS gives business users the ability to make or take desk phone calls all over the world with their BlackBerry smartphone.
The update adds support for the latest BlackBerry 7.1 devices, additional PBX systems and regulatory compliance with third party call recording solutions.
In order to comply with government or regulatory requirements, many organisations such as financial services providers need to record mobile phone calls. BlackBerry MVS 5.2 Service Pack 1 adds support for leading call recording solutions including Red Box Recorders.
In addition, the new release:
• Expands PBX platform support to include Siemens HiPath 4000
• Support the latest BlackBerry 7.1 devices including BlackBerry® Curve™ 9220, BlackBerry® Curve™ 9320 and BlackBerry® Curve™ 9310.
• Includes support for the ITU-T E.164, the international public telecommunication numbering plan and for call detail record (CDR) logging of mobile calls in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) time standard
BlackBerry MVS integrates an organisation’s BlackBerry smartphones with their corporate phone system (PBX). It provides a business user with the ability to use their regular desk phone number and extension from their BlackBerry smartphone. Employees can make and receive enterprise phone calls from their BlackBerry over a Wi-Fi connection, where available, or over the cellular network if on the move. Calls are routed through the PBX to ensure adherence to company policies, such as call recording. Employees also benefit from the convenience of a single work phone number shared between their desk phone and BlackBerry smartphone and unified services, such as voicemail and call forwarding.
