Financial advisors, lawyers and accountants in the country specialising in trusts can look forward to the 2013 Trust Seminars that kick off in October around the country. The seminars will be hosted by leading content and technology provider, LexisNexis South Africa.
There will be a total of six seminars held between 7 October to 14 October in venues in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Port Elizabeth.
The 2013 Trust Seminars aim to discuss the common perceptions and misconceptions about trusts and dissect the rationale behind them. The keynote speaker, Professor Willie van der Westhuizen will address the 7 W’s relating to trusts (who, what, when, why, where and which way).
The latest tax proposals pertaining to trust will also be discussed and delegates will be given important tips on how to prevent the common pitfalls associated with the creation of trusts.
The seminars are aimed at lawyers, accountants, brokers, advisers, trustees and laypersons who use or intend to use trusts in South Africa.
Professor Willie van der Westhuizen is an expert in the field of trusts. He is a director and practicing attorney and specialises in Trust Law and Holistic Estate Planning. He also serves a professor in Private Law at the University of the Free State, with special instruction in Trusts and Estate Planning Law.
This year’s seminar will be presented in a practical and engaging manner, employing a variety of real life examples. Delegates will be able to claim 3.5 CPD points or hours.
