Meumann White Attorneys, a leading KwaZulu Natal Real Estate Law Firm with offices in Durban, Amanzimtoti, Bluff, Umhlanga and Hillcrest, has selected XpressDox to replace their retiring document assembly system.Meumann White Attorneys also offers a wide range of other legal services, such as Commercial Law, Litigation, Family Law, Estates and Insolvency.
XpressDox is a powerful and flexible document assembly software system which speeds up legal document production and is designed for use by law firms of all sizes. The system runs as an add-in for Microsoft® Word and on any Internet browser. “We are really pleased that Meumann White decided to implement our product for their document assembly,” said Chris Pearson, CEO of XpressDox.
The first project was to develop a Share Block Transfer template which would be available to the firm’s Estate Agents from a link on the Meumann White website. Once the Agent has completed the online questionnaire, the legal document is produced remotely and emailed to the appropriate person at Meumann White automatically. “This has really streamlined the way we handle our Share Block Transfers,” said Bruce Forrest, Managing Partner at Meumann White. “Not only does the process happen much more speedily, but the information is accurately captured by the Estate Agents themselves, which saves data capture time,” he added.
“It’s great to see a South African law firm really embracing the latest technology,” said Pearson. “Sadly, most law firms in South Africa are content with the old (and risky) cut-and-paste method of producing documents, and in time those firms will be left behind as the inevitable march to commoditisation takes place,” he added.
Meumann White has now begun to convert the remainder of their legal precedents, which, once complete will not only save the firm a substantial amount of time, but it will also improve their client response times even further. “We have always used technology in order to stay ahead of the pack, and this strategy has worked extremely well for us over the years,” said Forrest. And it seems to be working because in recent years the firm was voted one of the top three KwaZulu Natal Law firms of choice by the Daily News readers and was also recognized by ABSA as the top performing KZN attorneys on the Home Loan Panel.
