SA cellphone users embrace Internet

cell-internetThe Mobility 2011 research project, conducted by World Wide Worx and backed by First National Bank, reveals that 39% of urban South Africans and 27% of rural users are now browsing the Internet on their phones. The study excludes "deep rural" users, and represents around 20-million South Africans aged 16 and above. This means that at least 6-million South Africans now have Internet access on their phones.

Very true Charlie.

I think they should definitely have mobile access to the market that requires it, and at a guest the perfect fit at the moment would be conveyancing.

As much as I like technology, mobile does not fit every application, but must be included in all future communication portals.

It's a very interesting piece of research which underscores the importance for professional service firms to create a mobile communications platform. There's been a tendency in the industry to spend mega bucks on beautiful website with all the bells and whistles. Paradoxically, few law firms have mobi sites which enable them to communicate with people on the fly. Perhaps time to shift focus?
