free_softwareLifehacker have recommended downloads each day. In this article they have compiled a list of the very best free Windows applications for 2009. Some of these we have spoken about in Tech4Law and although we do not use all of the applications, we do make use of most of them. They have similar "best of 2009" lists for Mac and Linux. We are going to give Notepad++ a whirl, will let you know how it goes in the next few months - but just having multiple tabs for separate files is a plus! Have also heard a few good reviews about Foxit Reader.
