 Tech4Law spoke to Wise Tablets about the pending explosion into the local tablet market, through their new tablet devices and the 3 interaction centres that will ship on the devices.
Wise|Tablets has been preparing their own local flavour of the Android 2.3 operating system and gathering new business, retail and education partners to add to their local group experience over the last 12 months and "Now," says management, "the floodgates are about to open."
Within 2 weeks the Generation 1 7” Wise Tablet will be distributed throughout the country via their channel partners as well as their own website. These tablets are going to be priced from R1800 for the WiFi model – something really attractive to the local market. The range will eventually include 7, 8, 9 and 10inch models, with Wifi and Wifi/3G models in each size. The bigger tablets will roll out In the months to come.
The Wise|Tablet Shopping Mall
Here the user will have access to retail shops that have an application and gateway though the Wise Tablet device – so all your favourite stores will be available as soon as you switch on your device.
The Wise|Tablet Business Park
Various business services will be available and as the business park suppliers realise the value, they will expand their offerings as well as improving the user experience says the management. An example of such services would be lawyers and financial consultants.
The Wise|Tablet Education Centre
Although the education department offers the national curriculum content at no charge, the authorisation to reproduce this content needs to be granted per section and this makes it hugely time consuming and frustrating. “The national schooling content is just about all there, although we are refining some extra wow features, which will roll out very soon.”, reported the management team.
Support
Support for the tablets will be offered via online and walk in centres located in the major centres. A number of the retail outlets will also offer walk in support centres.
In conclusion, if the product and support company have half the enthusiasm I witnessed, the Wise|Tablet is going to be a real winner.
