Jump to the previously worked on area in MS Word

PDF Print E-mail
word_gabWhen working on a document and you save your work before closing, the next time you open that document, you need to scroll through to search for the last place in the document you were working on? Well no more....

Once you open the document, press "Shift F5" and you will jump to the last area in the document that you were working on, pressing the "Shift F5" again will go the area before that instance etc.

Also you can use this feature to jump around in the same document, give it a try - rather useful.

keyboard shift f5

Hey Deborah, that sounds like a good solution for Kevin - where is the video located?

I actually did a video on that - there's a custom function you can embed in the footer that will show/not show certain text depending on whether the footer is appearing on the last page. Click my name and check it out if you're interested.

Good question Kevin.

At the last page, insert a Section Break. Then when you are editing the header or footer in the last section (which will be page 1 of the last section) turn off the "Same As Previous" in the header options. That will allow you to have a different last page - although it would be easier if MS would just give you an option for "Different Last Page".

Does that give you a solution?

Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to have the LAST page of a document different relative to headers and footers. There is a tick box to have the FIRST page different, but not the LAST page. The only way I have been able to do this involves putting in page breaks. As soon as you amend the document before the page break, it messes it all up. Is there any way of creating a tick box for a different last page? I have tried finding something in Word 2007 but to no avail.
