The practitioners guide to conveyancing and notarial practice

The second edition of this book was released during COVID, in 2020 and since then, there has been new case law as well as new Registrars Conference Resolutions that have become available. The new edition examines and includes these.

With the recent passing of the Deeds Registries Amendment Bill by the National Council of Provinces, to amend the Deeds Registries Act, 1937,  it is essential for conveyancing professionals to stay informed.

The amendment Bill provides for the appointment of a registrar of deeds, deputy registrar of deeds and assistant registrar of deeds in terms of the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1994; to further regulate the qualification requirements of a registrar of deeds, deputy registrar of deeds and assistant registrar of deeds; to provide for the appointment of the chief registrar of deeds; to provide for the responsibilities and duties of the chief registrar of deeds among many other things.  This is one of the things that necessitated an update to this publication in order to provide information to the existing conveyancing market as well as students and those who are recently qualified.

The book also includes an exam preparation guide to help candidates apply the syllabus to real-world conveyancing. This has proved to be extremely useful to our customers who have purchased previous editions of the book over the years.

To help practitioners keep pace with the recent amendments, the 3rd edition of The Practitioner’s Guide to Conveyancing and Notarial Practice is an invaluable resource.
