The Rules Board for Courts of Law announced increases in the party-and-party fee tariffs for the Magistrates Court, High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal, on the 3rd of June 2022. Whilst the average increase for both the Magistrates Court and the Supreme Court of Appeals is around 8%, the High Court saw a double-digit increase at around 17%.
In addition to the tariff increases, a few changes to the Magistrates Court forms were also announced.
The new rules were published in the Government Gazette Notice No 46475 and came into effect on 8 July 2022.
