The Attorneys Development Fund (soon to become The Legal Practice Development Fund) has launched their Johannesburg chapter of their brand-new Law Hub initiative.
This is the first of many ADF Law Hubs that will be established over time for approved ADF beneficiaries to make use of in all major centres around the Country.
The launch took place at the ADF offices in Bedfordview on the evening of the 26th February. Digby Vickers and Tshepo Mochabang represented AJS and Mari Van Wyk represented LexisNexis.
There were also a number of ADF board members in addition to the ADF beneficiaries who attended the function.
It was a wonderful event and brought a sense of pride to all who played a part in making this dream into a reality. It has been a culmination of efforts from many people but particular thanks must go to Jeanne Mari, Mandy and Vanessa for all the work and organisation, as well as outgoing board members Gavin McLachlan and Nomahlubi Khwinana for the dream and the vision.
The Law Hub initiative involves making all office tools and technologies available to approved Legal Practitioners at no cost for 12 months. The hub employs the latest on Web-based technology, hardware, network printers, WIFI, and telephony as well as up to date research (library) material supplied by AJS and LexisNexis as proud sponsors. Relevant training will also be provided.
In a nutshell the Law Hub will make everything available that a modern Law Firm would expect to provide to its Lawyers. For more information on the Law Hub Initiative, read their brochure here.
AJS is honoured to accept the opportunity to be a founding sponsor alongside LexisNexis, of the Law Hub initiative.
AJS director Digby Vickers says that the combination of AJS, LexisNexis and the ADF works exceptionally well together and that we can therefore look forward to providing a springboard for many many successful Legal Practitioners now and into the future.
