The Master in Pietermaritzburg is on strike this week. I was advised that all Government departments in the Harry Gwala (PMB) area are on strike this week as well.
I tried to enter yesterday, but could not and thought I would try again today thinking it was only a one day strike, however I was not allowed into the building and was advised that the strike will be for the entire week.
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Master in PMB this week (unless otherwise informed) and will return on Monday.

Hi Everyone,
The Pietermaritzburg Master’s Office has been experiencing problem with electricity since last week due to some Municipal faut in the block where they are situated. Fortunately last week they relied on their generator for limited backup.
Unfortunately today the generator has also packed up and they have no electricity at all which has resulted in no work being done. I spoke to the Acting Master, Ms Moatlhudi who has advised me that the technicians are working on the generator issue and cannot confirm when this will be operational again. As far as the Municipality fault, she does not even want to comment as to when that will be restored. We can all hope that this will be sorted out soon.

Please note that there is no electricity and water in Master Johannesburg because of the fire that erupted on the underground main power line yesterday.
Service will be severely affected
