With the end of Windows 10 support looming, Microsoft reiterates that the TPM 2.0 hardware requirement ‘is not just a recommendation—it’s a necessity’ for security.
At launch, one of the drawbacks of Windows 11 was its tougher hardware requirements—specifically, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security feature. If you had an older PC, you were out of luck and forced to stick with Windows 10. Workarounds emerged, but Microsoft now says that TPM 2.0 is “a non-negotiable standard for the future of Windows.”
