Dubbed ‘the world’s most innovative smartphone’, the Nokia Lumia 920 is scheduled to hit South African shores in November, with local mobile networks MTN and Vodacom adding their names to the growing list of operators globally ranging the flagship Windows Phone 8 device.
The Lumia 920 will be joined by the Nokia Lumia 820 before the end of the year.
The Nokia Lumia 920 includes the latest advances in Nokia PureView imaging innovation, making it possible to capture clear, bright pictures and video indoors and at night. In addition to built-in wireless charging, the Nokia 920 also comes with Nokia City Lens, the latest addition to the Nokia location suite and the start of a new augmented reality experience.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is a snappy, mid-range smartphone that delivers high-end performance in a compact package. It comes with an exchangeable shell design, making it possible to select from a range of colors, but also to add wireless charging. Beneath the shell is room to insert a micro SD memory card.
Both phones will be available in pentaband LTE with pricing, contract details and available colours being announced closer to sales start.
“With the first wave of Lumia we launched something completely new. We now have a range of four Lumia smartphones in the market and we have been very encouraged by the response from both consumers and our operator partners. We are seeing the same commitment behind the next wave of devices which underscores the momentum behind both Lumia, and the broader Windows ecosystem,” said Gerard Brandjes, Vice-President, Nokia.
