What were the increases in fees from 2025 to 2026
To determine the fee increases for 2026, the provided Government Gazette No. 54225 (published 27 February 2026) must be compared to the previous year’s rates established in Government Notice No. R 5917 of 29 February 2025.
The 2026 schedule introduces a general increase across most service categories. Below is a summary of the changes in key fee areas.
General Administrative Fees
Basic administrative and office fees have seen a consistent upward adjustment:
Lodgement Fee: Increased from R50.00 to R52.00.
Withdrawal of Deed/Document: Increased from R256.00 to R270.00.
Certified Copy (Regulation 68(1)): Increased from R624.00 to R658.00.
Report to Court (Section 97): Increased from R702.00 to R741.00.
Electronic Copy of Deed: Increased from R103.00 to R109.00.
Registration of Transfers
This table covers 14 different price brackets for property values.
Low-End (Up to R100k): 0% increase (remained at R50.00).
Mid-to-High Range: Most brackets saw an increase of 5.5% to 5.6%.
Example: Properties between R1M and R2M increased from R1,647 to R1,738.
Mortgage Bonds
This table lists 14 brackets based on the capital amount of the bond.
Consistent Adjustment: Every bracket in this table was increased by exactly 5.5%.
Example: Bonds exceeding R30M increased from R9,185 to R9,690.
Average Increase for this table: 5.5%.
Notarial Leases and Cessions
This table follows the same value-based structure as the Mortgage Bonds.
Consistent Adjustment: Mirroring the bond table, these fees were also raised by 5.5% across all 14 categories.
Average Increase for this table: 5.5%.
Statistical and Analytical Reports
These fees apply to data extraction based on the number of records processed.
Consistent Adjustment: All six tiers in this category (from 1 record to over 10 million) were increased by 5.5%.
Example: The highest tier (over 10M records) rose from R13,518 to R14,262.
