Legal TALK Africa 2025 is slowly coming to a close…
With the Legal TALK Africa team hitting the road again, it’s full steam ahead for all concerned – we are almost at the end of this incredible experience and there’s still so much going on. This time around we are first headed to Kimberley, capital of the Northern Cape and world famous for its diamond mines. Specifically one might recall the Kimberley Diamond – a 616-carat, naturally formed octahedral diamond crystal found in 1964 at the Dutoitspan Mine in Kimberley, currently located at the Kimberley Mine Museum. While not as big as the Cullinan Diamond, it was the seventh-largest gem-quality rough diamond ever discovered at the time.

Then we head to Bloemfontein, poetically known as the “city of roses” for its abundance of roses found there as well as the annual rose festival held there. While it may not be as glamorous as its diamond yielding counterpart, Bloemfontein is the seat of the Supreme Court of Appeal and as such holds as much interest to the legal profession as diamonds do. Please take note that those attendees who confirmed their attendance to the Legal TALK Africa event in Welkom on the 14th of August are invited to attend the talk in Bloemfontein. After that it’s time to get coastal again as we head off to East London – famous for its natural history museum, which houses a stuffed coelacanth, once thought to be extinct! Then it’s off to Gqeberha, an isiXhosa name, previously known as Port Elizabeth. Gqeberha is unique in that it is the gateway to the Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to the Big Seven not the Big Five. What’s the Big Seven you may be asking? Well, it includes lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, WHALES, and GREAT WHITE SHARKS!
Then it’s on to George, gateway to the Garden Route and home to the world famous Fancourt Golf Resort – one might call George the perfect holiday destination. Before lastly ending our whirlwind tour in the Mother City – Cape Town. It needs very little introduction being home to Table Mountain, the Atlantic Seaboard, Robben Island, wine farms galore as well as the most iconic coastline you can imagine. It’s almost like we left the best for last. Almost.
