What a fabulous start to our Legal Tech Talk 2024 roadshow!
We are absolutely awash with glee at the successful turnout at The Legal Tech Talk 2024’s inaugural Executive Innovation Breakfast that was held at Savages Fine Food restaurant in Gqeberha on the 8th of October. Interesting fact – Savages (an old heritage house) is the childhood home of Graeme and Peter Pollock.
It was blowing a gale early that Tuesday morning, but the coffee aroma coming from Savages promised a fantastic day ahead. And boy oh boy what a morning it was! The event was well attended by the Gqeberha legal community who were all eager to share in the knowledge that would be bestowed on them by our esteemed speakers – who were all prepped, primped and primed for their moments in the sun.
Wednesday the 9th of October saw our team in East London at the East London Country Club. What a treat it was. The lush greens were flooded in the ambient glow of the morning sun – so much so that the earth looked like it had been dusted in gold. The country club pulled out all the stops securing the attendance of East London’s local fauna too – beautiful buck could be seen galloping on the greens welcoming us all to the second Executive Innovation Breakfast.The speakers, who were all on top form, enthralled attendees yet again with their thoughts and ideas of what the future of law looks like.
Friday the 11th of October had our team in Durban with its semi-tropical ocean breeze – you could almost taste the sea foam. There was a buzz of excitement in the air as attorneys and colleagues met for the first time since COVID. While the Riverside hotel evoked yearnings of a cozy, idyllic holiday in the sun, it also provided a well-appointed conference facility that had our speakers in their element. The legal community in Durban – once again – did not disappoint and we were joined by many friendly faces all eager to learn more about how to future-proof their legal practice. The Durban crowd were animated with compliments on the insightful content and appreciation of a well-attended event that had the legal community talking.
Ending our first week in luscious Durbs really fit the bill – the positive feedback has us all brimming with pride – we even got some beautiful views of the ocean before we all made our way to our respective corners of our beautiful country for the weekend.
The surroundings in Gqeberha, East London and Durban were indeed – and as promised – lush and lavish and the breakfasts delectably delicious with every bite. The sinfully scrumptious chocolate brownies enjoyed at Savages had us all in chocolate heaven – calories be damned!

We think it’s safe to say that theExecutive Innovation Breakfasts have been – so far – marvellous days outside the office, where we have all learnt something new, networked with some wonderful people and took some decisive steps in future-proofing law firms.
And we couldn’t be more excited about it!
