Springboks prepare to play England at Twickenham. Before the test match in the changing room all the players are messing around joking with each other, and nobody is taking the game seriously.
So, Coach Rassie gets seriously angry and says to the team, “Now boys, none of you guys are taking this match seriously so I want all of you to go back to the hotel and I’m going to face England alone.”
The players are a bit confused, but agree to leave the coach, as you know, Coach Rassie knows best, and nobody should question his plans.
The whole squad goes back to the hotel on the bus and they immediately start having a good time. They party, drinking and jiving to some music and then one of the players says, “Hey boys let’s check up on the score and see how Coach Rassie is doing against England.”
They turn on the TV and they see that after 10 minutes the score is 7-0 to the Springboks. Coach Rassie is in the lead, this is amazing 1 player against the entire England team.
The Springboks now start partying even harder than before and a great time is being had by all, so well that they forget about the game.
Again, one of the players decide to switch the TV on and check on the score, as by now the game should be over. They turn on the TV and I see a headline….
“England score in the dying minute and draw the game with the Springboks”, they see the final score of 7-7.
This is amazing, Coach Rassie drew against England all by himself. The whole team pulls together and decide to go back to the stadium and to celebrate with Coach Rassie.
When they get o the stadium and they find Coach Rassie all alone in the changing room crying and the team asks him why he is crying.
Coach Rassie sobs and says, “No man, I am sorry boys, I let you down.”
The team is shocked and tell Coach Rassie that they are so proud of him, as he took on the whole team on his own and held them to a draw.
“No really boys,” says Coach Rassie, “I could have won the game, but I was red carded in the 11th minute.”
