REGISTRAR’S NOTICE
RE: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR DECEMBER 2024

Please take note of the following arrangements over the festive period (December 2024):

• The cut-off date for the Lodgement of Deeds and Documents to be registered on or by 23rd December 2024 will be 09th December 2024.
• The Deeds Office will be closed at 10:00 for clients/public on the 24th of December 2024. From 27th December to 31st December 2024, the Deeds Office will be closed and will reopen on 02nd January 2025.
• Deeds and Documents on Preparation/Prep and not registered by 23rd December 2024 will not be rejected by the system until 6th January 2025. Deeds that are still in prep after the 6th of January 2025 will be rejected and delivered to the clients.

North Gauteng Deeds Registry

Please take note that North Gauteng Deeds Registry will have a double executions o« the 12^th and 13’^h December 2024 due to the public holiday on 16 December 2024.

On the 19’^h and 20^th December 2024 there will also be a double executions, because the office will close at 10:00 on 24th.

Execution hours will be extended till 12:00 and start earlier than usual at 9:00 on the double execution dates.

No lodgements and registrations will be accepted on the 24’^h December 2024 as the office will be closed at 10h00.

NB: Conveyancers are encouraged to lodge their deeds early in December before the 11th. Deeds lodged after 11th December 2024 will possibly only register when the office re-opens on the 2^nd of January 2024.

The office will be closed for business on the following working days during December 2024 and re-open on 2nd January 2025.

Pietermaritzburg

NOTICE REGARDING PLANS FOR THE YEAR-END PERIOD

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF THE FOLLOWING MEASURES:
   1.1. The office of the Registrar of Deeds: Pietermaritzburg will not set a deadline for lodgements that will be targeted for registration before year-end. Conveyancers are advised to lodge deeds that they wish to register before year-end, as early as they possibly can. Requests to fast-track deeds in order to have them registered before year-end will not be considered.
   1.2. The double execution of deeds will be held on the 18th December 2024.
   1.3. The 19th, 20th and 23nd December 2024 will be normal working days and the office will be operating as normal.
   1.4. The office will communicate further directions, if any, regarding office operations as and when they are received from the National office.

Limpopo

In line with the Departmental Circular of 2024:

December Arrangements

Please note that the office of the Registrar of Deeds: Limpopo at Polokwane has made the following arrangements regarding the Lodgement and Execution of deeds over the Festive period:

• Deeds lodged before the 12th December 2024 will be executed on or before 20th December 2024.
• Deeds lodged after the 12th December 2024 will be executed in 2025.
• There will be a double execution on the 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th December 2024. Deeds at Prep on these days will be eligible for execution.
  • NB: Double Execution does not include deeds still under examination; such deeds will not form part of the double execution.
• On the 24th December 2024, the office will close at 10:00, and no execution will occur.

Office Closures
The office will be closed for business on the following days during December 2024 and will reopen on 2nd January 2025:

• Tuesday, 24/12/2024 (closing at 10:00)
• Friday, 27/12/2024 (Closed)
• Monday, 30/12/2024 (Closed)
• Tuesday, 31/12/2024 (Closed)
• Wednesday, 01/01/2025 (Closed)

System Changes

• A system change request will allow deeds to remain on Prep from 20th December 2024 until 10th January 2025.
• Automatic Rejections will be suspended during this period.
