The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) is looking for South Africa’s most promising solutions to access to justice problems, and we’re running out of time to do it!
We’re into the final week of our application period for the HiiL Innovating Justice Challenge 2018 (www.innovatingjustice.com). It’s been an exciting three months during the entry process, and we’ve met dozens of innovators and entrepreneurs from Southern Africa, and seen many promising entries to the challenge come through.
But we’re sure that there’s still many more people with incredible ideas for improving access to justice out there, and we desperately want to hear from them before time runs out.
So here’s a reminder of what an application to the Innovating Justice Challenge means for aspiring A2J innovators and startups.
- Successful applications which get shortlisted will be invited to pitch to an audience of legal experts, technology innovators, institutional representatives and investors at our regional Boostcamp event in September. This year’s Boostcamp pitching session will take place as part of Leaderex, at the Sandton Convention Centre, on 4 September.
- Boostcamp attendees will also receive a day’s training ahead of the pitching event, as an introduction to our Justice Accelerator programme.
- Following the Boostcamp, the best innovations will be invited to take part in the HIiL Justice Accelerator. Through the Accelerator, HiiL supports innovators and entrepreneurs with seed funding, a programme of business acceleration based in The Hague, and access to follow on local services and support for up to one year.
And last, but by no means least, through the Innovating Justice Challenge, HiiL is building a comprehensive picture of who is working on innovative solutions to access to justice problems in the region. As we expand our work in Southern Africa our goal is to strengthen this community of like-minded thinkers and help to support even more organisations in even more ways.
If you’re keen to speak to any of the organisations that we’re currently supporting in the region, or would like to find out more about how HiiL plans to reach 150 million people across the world by 2030, please don’t hesitate to get in touch on the contact details below.
Otherwise, anyone who is interested should visit www.innovatingjustice.com and put themselves forward.
