Thomson Reuters Elite, part of the Legal business of Thomson Reuters, today announced that award winning and leading UK full-service firm Boyes Turner LLP has made the decision to implement Client & Matter Management as part of Elite’s enterprise business management solution (EBMS).
An existing 3E client, Boyes Turner chose to integrate both matter management and legal practice management with MatterSphere and Engage, respectively. Although the firm’s decision to implement new solutions was prompted by a need to automate document assembly and associated time capture, its decision makers selected Client & Matter Management to meet other requirements.
“The legal world is changing and the need for creating a more efficient firm is clear,” said Andrew Chalkley CEO at Boyes Turner, “But so is the need to innovate and take advantage of new markets and the challenges that face us as we continue to grow and expand our client base.”
“As a long-term user of 3E, it was crucial that the matter management and legal practice management solutions we selected would provide a truly integrated front office system,” said Tim Roche, Head of IT at Boyes Turner. “Not only is Client & Matter Management a core component of Elite’s EBMS, MatterSphere and Engage are able to meet our goal to quickly provide a seamless set of data that combines financial, contact, and performance information about our clients and our business to fee earners and key support staff.”
For Boyes Turner, it is crucial that Client & Matter Management improves the manner in which users find and access information, even across disparate systems. By integrating with the firm’s existing document management system (DMS), MatterSphere assists with document assembly, presenting additional matter information alongside DMS content. MatterSphere also streamlines processes for the opening and closing of clients and their matters. With Engage, the firm is able to improve risk assessment and ID checking to increase overall compliance with specific aims to comply with the recently introduced Jackson eforms in the UK. As matters are planned, the solution pulls actual data from the firm’s time and billing system to more accurately forecast cost budgeting to its clients. Additionally, firm-wide reporting through Engage can be produced across all staff, as well as the firm’s centralized management of tasks.
“This joint purchase of MatterSphere and Engage exemplifies how Client & Matter Management completely encompasses matter management and legal project management, helping firms such as Boyes Turner manage every aspect of their businesses and execute on strategic goals,” said Elisabet Hardy, vice president of Product Management at Elite. “Woven into the fabric of Boyes Turner’s workflow, MatterSphere builds into the tools it’s lawyers use all day long, while Engage provides the step-by-step tools it needs to manage matters most effectively through their entire lifecycle.”
Elite is a leading global provider of its end-to-end EBMS that allows law firms and professional services organizations to run all operational aspects of their firms, including business development, risk management, client and matter management, and financial management.
