Sabinet, a significant role player in the online information industry, has announced their new product offering, Sabinet Labour, a product specifically designed for labour information users such as labour consultants, labour relations specialist, HR managers and labour attorneys.
For the first time, a full set of all updated Bargaining Council agreements for all registered South African Bargaining Councils will be available. These agreements will be kept up to date as and when changes to agreements take place or new agreements are published in the Government Gazettes. Frequent users of Bargaining Council agreements have found it frustrating that these agreements are not readily and easily available online. However with Sabinet Labour, this is no longer the case.
Sabinet acquired the GilesFiles database which contained very valuable but undiscoverable information regarding all labour judgments from all courts since the 1980s. Sabinet has added this database, which is updated on a daily basis, to the Sabinet Labour product and, where possible, the reference to a judgment has been linked to that specific judgment on SAFLII. Rosalind Hattingh, managing director of Sabinet says: “The information available in the Sabinet Labour offering is unique and we believe that this product will be very beneficial for Human Resources and Labour information users.”
The Sabinet Labour product also contains references and, where available, links to relevant articles from Labour Judgments and clients can access the full text of some of these articles via the SA ePublications Labour Collection of online labour journals. Sabinet has also included A – Z lists with important information about Trade Unions, Trade Union Federations and Employers’ Organisations. Furthermore, labour related acts, court forms, court rules, practice directives for the labour court as well as certain procedures were added to this product for the convenience of clients.
