Although there are many great reasons to adopt flat fees and skip the billable hour here, sometimes you will have no choice. I have to admit that, as much as I love flat fees, a significant portion of my work is still billed by the hour. I also have to keep track in certain contingency fee cases. So, I’m always on the look out for ways to capture time with less pain.
